Garden Structures & Timber Framing

It is often said that landscapes shape us—that the places we inhabit influence who we become. Some of our most cherished memories are tied to beautiful spaces where we found peace, connection, and freedom from the demands of everyday life. A thoughtfully designed garden offers more than beauty; it provides a place of retreat, reflection, and renewal.

At The Oakwright, we believe a garden should feel timeless and deeply connected to its surroundings. From thoughtful plant selection to the final installation, we work alongside our clients to create outdoor sanctuaries that reflect their vision and complement the character of their home.

Central to our garden designs are traditional timber structures, crafted to bring warmth, permanence, and a sense of belonging to each space. Whether simple or elaborate, these structures provide a natural gathering place—grounding the landscape while adding beauty and purpose.

Our timber-framed structures are truly one of a kind. Each brace is hand-cut, and every timber is carefully joined using the traditional method of plumb bob scribing. This centuries-old technique allows us to follow the natural character and curves of each tree, preserving more of its original form while creating a frame that is both structurally sound and uniquely beautiful.

The result is a timber frame that celebrates the character of the material itself—a structure that is perfectly imperfect, shaped by both the craftsman and the tree from which it came.
